Tiny Horizons

Our antenatal service, Tiny Horizons, is an important part of our Children’s Hospice care.

Tiny Horizons is a service that provides palliative care for parents right from diagnosis during pregnancy.

This is an extremely difficult time for parents and their family, dealing with a lot of information and emotions. With Tiny Horizons we ensure families are not alone but have the support they need.

Our Team

The team includes, Specialist Nurses, Doctors, Physiotherapists and Social Workers.

We can provide care in Horizon House (our dedicated Children’s Unit) or in the family’s own home.

How we can help

Receiving the news that your baby may have a short life, during your pregnancy is a devastating experience and it can feel that your world has been turned upside down.

It may be that someone is needed to explain some of the things you have been told or someone to listen as you try to make sense of what is happening.

We can help prepare for what may lie ahead and support families to make decisions that are right for them.

Telling your Children

If you have other children, you might worry about how to explain the situation to them.

We have experience in supporting children of all ages and will be able to help you involve them in ways that are right for your family.

Our Care also includes

  • Emotional and psychosocial support for the whole family
  • Symptom management
  • End of life care
  • Specialised short breaks

Family’s needs are central to our care, and we will give parents all the options of care available to help tailor our planning to what is important to each family.
