Ready to make waves for a great cause? NI Hospice’s much-loved Dragon Boat Race is back this September – and with an extra day of racing added due to overwhelming demand, 2026 is set to be the biggest and most exciting event yet.

Returning as headline sponsor is long-standing NI Hospice supporter Domino’s Pizza, helping fuel three action-packed days of competition on Belfast’s picturesque River Lagan on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September.

More than 60 teams are expected to take to the water, and organisers are urging businesses, clubs, community groups and friends to secure their place now before the event sells out.

No rowing experience? No problem. Expert crews will provide all the training needed, leaving teams free to focus on what really matters – teamwork, friendly rivalry, fundraising and, of course, deciding on the perfect fancy dress theme.

Hosted at Bryson Lagan Sports on the Ravenhill Road, the event promises a festival atmosphere packed with racing, music, games, laughter and team spirit. Competitors will also enjoy lunch provided by the Rapid Relief Team (RRT).

Last year, participants raised an incredible £100,000 to support NI Hospice’s specialist palliative care services for local babies, children, adults, and their families. With an additional day of racing and Domino’s continued support, organisers are aiming to smash that total in 2026.

The partnership between Domino’s and NI Hospice spans more than 15 years of shared commitment to supporting local families. Through the generosity of customers and the support of local franchisees Shorecal and Racz Group, Domino’s has helped raise more than £190,000 for NI Hospice, making a real difference to children and families across Northern Ireland.
