Northern Ireland Hospice and PropertyPal are the perfect blend!

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the demand for Hospice services rise, especially as many people want to remain at home surrounded by loved ones. Specialist Community Hospice Nurses across Northern Ireland have been caring for patients and their families, providing palliative care during their most difficult times. Big Coffee Break is one of Northern Ireland Hospice's largest fundraising campaigns with all funds raised going directly towards supporting the work of Community Nurses as they care for local people in the community.

Now in its 29th year, the Northern Ireland Hospice Big Coffee Break campaign encourages families, friends and local businesses across the country to take a break to enjoy a cuppa with their loved ones, whilst raising vital funds to support the delivery of hospice care services.

Regan McFarland, Events and PR Manager at PropertyPal, said: “As the leading Property Portal in the country, we showcase thousands of beautiful homes that are for sale and available to rent, all across Northern Ireland.

We recognise the importance of a home. It’s somewhere where families grow old together, create special memories, and in many homes, where family members or loved ones receive palliative care.

When we heard about Northern Ireland Hospice’s ‘Big Coffee Break’  campaign, we knew it was something PropertyPal wanted to get involved with, to support a much-loved charity that almost everyone has been touched by. The work they do is invaluable to the people of Northern Ireland and we would encourage all of our supporters to sign up, pop the kettle on and host their ‘Big Coffee Break’ in support of Hospice.

Mary McCall, Director at Northern Ireland Hospice, added: “The past 18 months has been tough for everyone, especially the charity sector. Throughout the pandemic, our Care Team have still been here, continuing to care for patients and their families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.”

“Not many people know, but almost 80% of our care is delivered in homes across Northern Ireland, allowing patients to live and die well in the comfort of their own surroundings, with their loved ones by their side. The demand for our services continues to increase, and as we only receive a portion of funding from the government, we rely heavily on fundraising campaigns like ‘Big Coffee Break’ to generate vital funds to support our services.

We’re delighted that PropertyPal have shown their support to Hospice, coming on as our official sponsor for this fantastic fundraiser, and will encourage individuals, businesses, churches and schools across Northern Ireland to join with us by hosting their ‘Big Coffee Break’ Event. Raising just £140 could fund a morning or afternoon of community services for a patient at home, and support for their loved ones.”

The Northern Ireland Hospice ‘Big Coffee Break’ campaign runs from 30th August – 3rd October 2021 and people can host their Big Coffee Break virtually or in-person (abiding by social distancing guidelines). Individuals who sign up will receive their free fundraising pack which includes recipes for their event, bunting, coasters and a bag of delicious Hospice Blend Coffee.
