A&L Goodbody Belfast Announces Two-Year Charity Partnership with Northern Ireland Hospice

We’re delighted to welcome A&L Goodbody’s Belfast office as a new charity partner. Over the next two years, their team will support NI Hospice through fundraising, volunteering, and pro bono legal expertise—helping us continue providing specialist palliative care to local children and adults.

Northern Ireland Hospice is delighted to announce a new two-year charity partnership with the Belfast office of A&L Goodbody (ALG), one of Ireland’s leading corporate law firms. This partnership will see ALG’s 140-strong team lend their support to the Hospice through a blend of fundraising, volunteering, and pro bono legal expertise.

NI Hospice is the only provider of specialist palliative care for both children and adults in Northern Ireland. Our care includes specialist nursing at home, short breaks in our In-Patient Unit, end-of-life care, and vital family and bereavement support services.

Michael Neill, Head of ALG’s Belfast Office, outlined how the partnership will come to life:
“While engaging in the usual mix of creative fundraising activities, our people will also have the chance to make a real difference by dedicating their time volunteering and their legal expertise on a pro bono basis to support the vital work of the NI Hospice.”

Clare Johnston, Corporate Relationship Manager at NI Hospice, welcomed the partnership:
“A huge and heartfelt thanks to our partner A&L Goodbody. Their generous support over this two-year partnership will enable us to continue providing our specialist palliative care to those who need it most. We are excited to partner with such a well-known and prestigious legal firm and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work together in the coming months.”

ALG’s commitment to responsible business is deeply embedded in the firm’s culture. Michael Neill added:
“ALG has always been committed to investing in the passions and interests of our employees and clients – be that in sport, the arts, or charitable and community endeavours. Through our responsible business programme, we’ve partnered with numerous charities and social enterprises across Northern Ireland, including the Welcome Organisation, Simon Community NI, and Business in the Community NI. We very much look forward to working with NI Hospice in this latest partnership.”

We are incredibly grateful for ALG’s support and excited for the impact this partnership will have in helping us deliver compassionate, specialist care to local families.
