No Fooling Around: local businesses set to Clash for a cause

Northern Ireland Hospice is calling on businesses across the region to bring the craic, the competition and the camaraderie as it launches Clash of the Companies, taking place on Tuesday 1st April.

And no, it’s not an April Fool’s joke. But there will be laughs.

The high-energy, city-wide scavenger hunt will see teams of 6 to 10 colleagues race across Belfast using an interactive app to tackle fun challenges, solve puzzles, snap photos and out-smart rival companies – all starting and finishing at the iconic St George’s Market. After the final dash to the finish line, teams can refuel with food while a new Clash of the Companies champion is crowned.

Beyond the buzz, the challenge – the charity's biggest and boldest corporate fundraising challenge to date – also supports corporate CSR and ESG goals, offering up to 40 volunteering hours per team and a standout networking opportunity with businesses from across the region.

Conal Duffy, NI Hospice’s Chief Income Officer, said: “Clash of the Companies is all about bringing people together to have fun while doing something genuinely impactful. The event promises a unique mix of team building, friendly (or not-so-friendly) rivalry and meaningful impact, with all funds raised supporting vital Hospice care for local people and families across Northern Ireland.

“It’s a brilliant way for businesses to boost morale, connect with other organisations and support a cause that touches so many lives across Northern Ireland. We can’t wait to see Belfast come alive with colour, competition and community spirit on 1st April.”

Ryan Lyttle, owner of Prison Island Belfast, said: “At Prison Island, teamwork, problem-solving and having fun under pressure are what we do best – so Clash of the Companies was a perfect fit.

“We’re incredibly proud to support Northern Ireland Hospice as both headline event sponsor and as a Charity of the Year fundraiser, and we’re excited to see local businesses take on the challenge for such an important cause. Game on!”

Think your organisation has what it takes? With excitement building and places filling fast, NI Hospice is encouraging companies to sign up, rally their colleagues and bring their A-game for a day they won’t forget.
