Dunbia’s Dungannon site is delighted to announce that it has chosen Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice as its Charity of the Year for 2025.
Dunbia will be raising funds to support Children’s Hospice’s mission of providing specialist palliative care for babies and children with life- threatening and life-limiting illnesses.
Neil Swann, Site Manager at Dunbia Dungannon, commented: “We are delighted to partner with the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. The essential services they provide bring much needed care and compassion into the lives of children and their families in our community. We are thrilled to be fundraising for such a worthy cause.”
Dunbia Dungannon plans to actively participate in Hospice organised events, on-site fundraising events and external activities. Activities throughout the year will vary from marathons and boat races, to walks and coffee mornings, all with the aim of raising much-needed funds for NI Children’s Hospice.
Clare Johnston, Corporate Relationship Manager at NI Hospice, said: “A huge and heartfelt thanks to our partner, Dunbia. Their generous support for NI Children’s Hospice will enable us to continue providing our specialist palliative care to babies, infants and children with complex needs, and their families.”
NI Children’s Hospice is the only service of its kind in Northern Ireland. Hospice’s services include specialist nursing care at home, supported short breaks at the In-Patient Unit at Horizon House, end-of-life care and family and bereavement support. Hospice also works in partnership with the NHS to support parents with an antenatal care service, Tiny Horizons.
Dunbia’s Dungannon site processes beef and lamb with additional facilities for further processing and retail packing. The site employs over 1,000 permanent staff members.
