Philanthropy – The Power of Trust workshop

Northern Ireland Hospice recently organised an invitation-only event entitled ‘Philanthropy – The Power of Trust’, at the fabulous Custom House in Belfast.

The workshop was presented by NI Hospice’s Chief Income Officer Conal Duffy, alongside Wayne Nickels, Senior Investment Manager at RBC Brewin Dolphin, to highlight how high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals can consider philanthropy as part of their wealth management and the various benefits available.

Conal said: “I had a great morning talking about the power of philanthropy, alongside the brilliant Wayne Nickels. We were joined by super engaged people from the legal and wealth management professions, sharing ideas on how we can make philanthropy and charitable giving easier and better understood in Northern Ireland.

“Thanks to Kelly Roulston, Corporate Fundraising Manager, for coming along and sharing insights about Northern Ireland Hospice and corporate partnerships.”

Wayne Nickels added: “Thank you to Conal Duffy and Kelly Roulston and all our attendees for an insightful discussion on philanthropy as well as examining strategic tools and vehicles which can best serve our clients and ultimately their charitable causes over the long term.

“Although I have had personal experience of the fantastic work Northern Ireland Hospice carries out, the insights Conal Duffy provided highlighted the sheer breadth and depth of services which otherwise would not be provided at the times of most need.

“We all came away today having learnt something about philanthropy and the need to have a strategic and coherent plan in place with all advisors in the room – I'm already looking forward to the next workshop.”
