Northern Ireland Hospice Staff Nurse Awarded MBE for Services to Palliative Care

We are delighted to announce that Jenny Donnan, Staff Nurse in the Inpatient Unit at Northern Ireland Hospice, has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for her outstanding services to palliative care in Northern Ireland.

Jenny has long been a cornerstone of compassionate care at the Hospice, dedicating herself to the needs of patients and their families with empathy, skill, and professionalism.

Trevor McCartney, Chief Executive Officer at Northern Ireland Hospice, paid tribute to Jenny’s achievements, stating:

“This is testament to Jenny’s  dedication, compassion, and professionalism in supporting patients and families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Her commitment to excellence in palliative care has not only made a difference to those she cares for but has also provided a benchmark for the standard of care across our sector.”

 

Jenny’s recognition with an MBE is a proud moment for the entire Hospice team and the broader palliative care community. Her daily work embodies the Hospice’s mission to provide comfort, dignity, and hope.
