This month, 36 solicitor firms across Northern Ireland will waive their will writing fees, in return for donations to Northern Ireland Hospice.

The annual campaign, which first started in 2012, has raised over £50,000,to date, for Hospice, helping to care and support local babies, children and adults living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.

Mary McCall, Northern Ireland Hospice Director explains why this is an important campaign, “Having an up-to-date Will is the best way for you to have control over what happens to your property and possessions after your death - a Will is something we should all have regardless of age.  It is not as complicated as many of us think, and the solicitors who are supporting us in this campaign will ensure the process is as easy as possible.”

“We are very grateful to each of these solicitors, campaigns such as Make a Will Month are vital for Hospice, helping us to continue to deliver specialist palliative care to local people who need it most.  Your donations make a real difference. I also want to thank those individuals who also decide to leave a gift in their will to Hospice; your gift ensures we can continue to provide vital care for families across Northern Ireland. ”

Naomi Lamont, Solicitor at Elliot Duffy Garrett, added: “Writing a Will is the most important thing you can do to protect your family and loved ones. By availing of our solicitor’s service during this “Make a Will Month”, you can ensure that your final wishes are carried out whilst helping to ensure the availability of future hospice care to people here whenever and wherever they need it”.
