Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is an easy and efficient way to donate to NI Hospice

Payroll Giving, also referred to as Give As You Earn (GAYE), is one of the easiest, most effective ways for your business or organisation to support local charities, like Northern Ireland Hospice. It helps us plan, knowing in advance the level of donations we can expect to receive, which is critical for us as a charity.

For your employees, it is a tax efficient method of making a regular donation to charity.

 How does it work?

Once your business is registered, your employees can sign up to donate a given amount each month. This donation is deducted from their salary, after national insurance but before tax. This means that a typical standard rate taxpayer making a £10 donation will effectively be paying £8.

A hassle-free initiative that benefits your business and your employees as well as providing funds to NI Hospice to help us continue to provide our vital palliative care services in the local community

 Benefits for your business:

  • Improves your Corporate Social Responsibility and raises your Corporate Community Investment profile
  • Enhance your company’s culture, core values and staff engagement through alignment with charitable causes your staff care about
  • Social responsibility and ethics of businesses is increasingly important to current and future staff at your company
  • Your business will have the opportunity to match your staff’s donations and any donations are eligible for tax relief
  • Leverage your charitable giving with minimal effort or cost to you
  • Efficiently measure your charitable giving

 How you’ll be helping Hospice

With only 35% of our funding received from Government, we rely heavily on donations and support from the local community. The security of recurring income helps ensure we can continue to be there for local people who need our specialist care in the future.
