STATSports SuperCupNI to put Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice at the heart of their tournament

23 July 2019

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice has been announced as this year’s official charity partner for the annual STATSports SuperCupNI tournament.

The historic competition will see teams from across the world showcase their talent on local pitches.

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice has been at the heart of the historic tournament since 2012 and all funds raised through the tournament will go directly to supporting infants, children and young people.

SuperCupNI Chairman, Victor Leonard, said: “We have had a long and successful partnership with Northern Ireland Hospice and the many supporters who attend SuperCupNI games really get behind the fundraising efforts for the charity.

“Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is a wonderful, happy and caring place for families and young people. I have been fortunate to visit Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and having witnessed the care and compassion at Horizon House, is a reminder that what we achieve through fundraising at SuperCupNI is extremely worthwhile.”

Sheila Duffy, Head of Fundraising at NI Children’s Hospice, added: “We’re delighted that Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice has been selected as the official STATSports SuperCupNI partner. Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care to over 300 life-limited children and their families every year. Without the support of the local community and partnerships such as this, we could not provide the specialist palliative care and support that these children and families desperately need.

“I am delighted that the vital work of Northern Ireland Children's Hospice is being recognised through this international event. All funds raised will enable us to continue to care and support infants, children and young people both in our Children’s Hospice and in the community”.

The STATSports SuperCupNI kicks off on 27th July and includes attractive clashes between Manchester United and Rangers FC and visits from the likes of Valencia, Arsenal, Leeds United and Celtic.
