Domino’s Pizza Northern Ireland has raised over £100,000 for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice since they announced their partnership five years ago.
Domino’s, via Pennies, the online charity box, began supporting Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice in September 2011. Since then, they have launched an exclusive online offer; `The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice Deal` which donates £1 from every deal sold to the hospice. Individual franchisees and their store team members have also pulled together to raise funds for the Hospice through fun runs, family days and store events.
Speaking about their partnership, Katie Pollock, Head of Fundraising at Northern Ireland Children's Hospice said: “It costs approximately £3.5million to run our Children’s Hospice services each year. Whilst Hospice care is free to the patient, it is not free to provide and therefore the charity relies heavily on the support of the public and corporate partnerships. As a corporate charity partner, Dominos has exceeded all of our expectations, raising an outstanding £100k. With their continued support, this will enable us to continue to provide specialist palliative care for babies and children with life-limiting illnesses”.
Paul Dupuy, Marketing Manager at Domino’s Pizza UK & Ireland added: “We’re very proud about the work we do with the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, and we recognise what they do is beyond special. Our franchisees and their teams work hard to raise funds for the charity. The partnership with Pennies and the introduction of the NI Children’s Hospice deal has taken our fundraising to another level. We hope our customers will dig deep and regularly round up through the Pennies service, as well as order the online deal.”
The current `NI Children’s Hospice Deal` is available online at dominos.co.uk and includes any large pizza, garlic pizza bread, twisted dough balls and cookies for only £18.99 – with Domino’s donating £1 to the Children’s Hospice. The deal is available in all stores across Northern Ireland including; South Belfast, East Belfast, Carrickfergus, Lisburn Road, North Belfast, West Belfast, Saintfield Road and Glengormely, the stores at Antrim, Armagh, Ballyclare, Ballymena, Banbridge, Bangor, Coleraine, Cityside and Waterside at Derry-Londonderry, Larne, Lurgan, Newry, Newtownards and Omagh.
Singer, Niamh Kavanagh was also in attendance to celebrate the partnership: “As a parent, it’s hard to imagine the pain some families go through, but the services offered by the Hospice and the staff are extraordinary and offer so much assistance at end of life care and support for everyone in the family”.
As part of their fundraising activities for the remainder of 2017, Domino’s franchisees and their store team members have committed to completing an abseil in September. Each team member will raise funds over the next few months and join together for the big day.
