"The Hospice is a wonderful place to work. There are of course times of sadness but it is also a most rewarding and uplifting experience".

Why do you volunteer at Northern Ireland Children's Hospice?

For me it is a privilege to play a small part in an organisation which does so much to help children with life limiting illnesses. I enjoy meeting people who come into the Hospice and the interaction and friendliness with staff.

What sort of tasks are involved in your role?

I deal with people as they come into the Hospice – this may involve families, tradesmen or visitors for patients. I also answer telephone call, process donations and carry out other administrative duties.

What is the best thing about being part of Northern Ireland Children's Hospice?

To witness first hand the dedication of staff and the dignity of parents and guardians of the children – the children are inspiring.

What would you say to prospective volunteers?
