HOME Bargains – the top brand, bottom price retailer – has pledged to raise vital funds for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, helping the charity continue its palliative care work for babies and young people in hospice and their homes throughout the country.

Under the new partnership, the retailer’s 20 Northern Ireland sites will have collection boxes for the charity in store.

Joe Morris, Operations Director at the family-run business, said: “We pride ourselves on placing our stores at the heart of many different communities across the UK and our team is committed to supporting local families in every way we can. We’re extremely proud that our team in Northern Ireland has chosen to fundraise for such an important charity on their doorstep and we’re looking forward to making an important contribution to its future.”

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is the only dedicated palliative care service in the province that can offer high level support to life limited children with very complex needs who require 24 hour specialist care.

Katie Pollock, Head of Fundraising at Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice added, “It costs approximately £3.5million to run our Children’s Hospice services each year. Whilst Hospice care is free to the patient, it is not free to provide and therefore the charity relies heavily on the support of the public and corporate partnerships. We’re delighted to have Home Bargains on board this year supporting Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice – we wish them the best of luck with their fundraising activities for 2017”.

Home Bargains is one of the country’s largest independent retailers, with over 400 stores across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, its bucking current trends in the industry.
