Spiritual Care

The Hospice Chaplains are involved in the spiritual and/or religious care of patients, relatives, staff and volunteers respecting the beliefs of the individuals.

Spiritual Care

As human beings we all have common concerns as to the meaning of life, suffering and death. We also have a need for relationships, to be valued and loved. The chaplains offer space and time to explore these spiritual issues in the context of an individual's beliefs and philosophy of life.

The chaplains are also happy to meet religious needs and with the patient's permission will contact local clergy, spiritual leader or faith community on their behalf. They are available to pray with individuals, read scriptures and/or celebrate the sacrament.

Everyone is welcome to attend the prayer services which are held in the hospice chapel at 12.00 noon Monday - Friday and at 3.00pm Saturday and Sunday. The hospice chapel can also be used for personal prayers and reflection. A prayer card is available for patients and loved ones.
