Membership of Northern Ireland Hospice

Northern Ireland Hospice is governed by a Board of Trustees, six of whom are elected by and from the membership of Northern Ireland Hospice and four who are appointed by the sitting Board. All trustees serve for three years and may, if re-elected or appointed, remain in office for a further term of three years.

The Board meets six times a year and Trustees contribute their individual time and expertise to help set and oversee the strategic direction of the organisation. Once a year the Trustees present their Annual Report and Accounts to the membership in general meeting, outlining the work of the charity and its achievements over the preceding 12 months.

For the well-being of the charity, it is important that the Board encompasses the necessary experience, skills and knowledge to enable it to carry out its role effectively and, as nominations to the Board are made by the members of Northern Ireland Hospice, individual members play a very important part in ensuring that the Board is fit for purpose.

A vibrant and enthusiastic membership is the life blood of any successful charity and Northern Ireland Hospice would encourage anyone who shares our passion for the work we do to become a member and help us build for the future.

Entry to membership is by application and costs £15 (£5 for senior citizens or those on limited incomes) per year payable in April. The only other requirement is that prospective members sign up to a basic Code of Ethics.
