Funding

There is no charge for hospice care. It is available to everyone on the basis of need. A proportion of our income comes from government but we still rely heavily on voluntary donations and legacies. This year we will have to raise over £5m from the general public.

This is a formidable task, especially in the current economic climate, but since the early 1980’s when half a million was needed to build the adult hospice to our most recent appeal to establish a children’s hospice the Northern Ireland public have supported us every step of the way. We need that support now more than ever to enable us to meet the ever increasing need for our services. We also depend upon our volunteers to support our work in both the adult and the children’s hospice, in fundraising and in our hospice charity shops.
