Every gift in every will makes a real difference
Supporters who remember Northern Ireland Hospice in their Wills , help us to grow and develop our services in response to the ever increasing need, creating a legacy that lasts long into the future.
Gifts in Wills are our lifeblood. Without them we simply couldn’t care for all the patients and families we do. They are a crucial part of our fundraising income. Last year 1 in 6 of our patients will receive hospice care as a result of donations from local people who have remembered us in their Wills.
By leaving a gift in your Will to Northern Ireland Hospice you can make a lasting difference, like David Trasna, who in 1948 left Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the hospice movement, £500 in his will with the message, ‘ I’ll be a window in your home’. It took Dame Cicely nearly twenty years to realize her dream of building a special home where dying patients like David could receive the care they needed at the end of their lives, but finally in 1967 the very first hospice, St Christopher’s in London was opened.
What a difference that £500 made !
We are enormously grateful for every gift we receive – whatever its amount. Each person who remembers our work in their Will becomes part of our history and, most importantly, our future.
