Welcome to Northern Ireland Hospice

Cherie Gardiner

Register now to abseil down the Europa Hotel  on Sunday 19 September 2010 for Hospice.

Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity caring for local people.

Each year we care for over 3,000 adults, children and young people with life-limiting and life threatening conditions. We also support their families and carers. Care is provided in the hospice and in the community. It is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Every patient is special to us. Our service is about making things better for them. It’s about helping and supporting them through tough times.

Our aim is to provide the best possible care for our patients and their families. We recognise that people are more than their illness and that care has to take account of emotional, social and spiritual issues as well as addressing the concerns of their families and friends who are also facing loss.

This is much more than pain and symptom control but pays attention to the individual and helps them in a way appropriate to them. It is flexible and adaptable and in many situations care can be given at home.

There is no charge for hospice care. It is available on the basis of need. We do receive some funding from government but we still rely heavily on donations and legacies to fund our much needed services.

In this site you can find out more about the services we provide and the people we help, as well as more about how you can get involved in our work through volunteering or fundraising. To make a donation to Northern Ireland Hospice click on the 'Make a donation' button on the left.
